What is Till Financial?

Till Financial is a banking app for kids & families.

The startup lets parents create bank accounts for their sons & daughters so that kids can learn-by-doing how to manage their finances from very early on.

An app capable of building and improving new generations' financial literacy is awesome. But what if I tell you that Till Financial does more than that?

The startup is in fact also indirectly introducing a new innovation concept I like to call the app-for-life.

Think about it.

Till Financial right now serves kids & teens.

But what if in the future Till Financial starts building features for graduates, adults and the elderly?

Peggy Mangot was the first to invest in Till Financial at its seed round. Prior to PayPal, Mangot ran development of Greenhouse, Well Fargo’s fee-free mobile banking app that aimed to help younger users build responsible spending habits.

According to Mangot, she’s interested in how the app helps children to spend wisely. Mangot who has three kids, recalls that when they were shopping online, she’d give them her credit card. Or, if they were going to the corner store or meeting with friends, she’d give them cash. She also believes that by helping children and teens understand important financial lessons at a younger age, the world will ultimately be full of more responsible adults.

The aim of the app is to earn revenue, by partnering with financial merchants to offer rewards to kids. Yet, it’s going to be interesting to see how the startup will be able to cope with competition.

In such a context, how will Till Financial maintain its competitive advantage?

Features-wise there’s little that can be done. All startups can copy paste features from one another.
